For reference, Montez Sweat has 35 3/4 inch arms, and his are the longest of any EDGE drafted in the last five years. No matter what happens in his career, Tyree Wilson will always have at least one elite trait: length.
And Wilson knows how use his levers to win. The Texas Tech product will long arm you to death.
On this play TCU runs play action, and the back side guard pulls across the formation to block Wilson. Wilson isn’t really going all that fast when the lineman meets him, so he doesn’t get the benefit of forward momentum to create knockback.
Tyree gets those long ass arms in the guard’s frame, and he’s extremely strong. He’s able to basically bench press the lineman. He extends his arm upward, lifting the blocker up and setting him back down somewhere more out of the way. He gets pressure on the QB and forces a wobbly duck.
